Wine is, without doubt, one of the finest examples of Italian agrifood production – closely tied to local traditions and regional specialities – and is a sector that is evolving now more than ever. Banco BPM can support businesses in the industry on their paths to growth and development through specially structured initiatives. Two particularly interesting options are the Inventory Loan and New Crops.
Inventory Loan – This solution is designed for companies seeking an alternative and flexible way to optimise the financial management of their inventory. The inventory loan is a tool that allows the company to retain availability of the asset and continue managing its production and logistics processes independently and without delays. In fact, loans are tailored to the company’s specific needs, with usage and repayment periods aligned with inventory cycles. These loans typically last between three and five years.
New Crops – This is the solution for farmers who wish to invest in their business by increasing their vineyard area or replacing old vines. The financing is structured to meet the company's specific requirements. New Crops includes a grace period of up to three years followed by a repayment period of five years. These features allow the farmer to wait for the new production cycle to bear fruit before repaying the capital borrowed. In addition to purchasing vines, the loans may cover earthworks, irrigation systems, support structures and fencing where required. The loan can also be granted for investments on owned or leased land.
On key ESG topics, Banco BPM can support wine producers in their transition towards sustainability – in both vineyards and wineries – and in diversifying and optimising energy use through the development of renewable energy sources (such as the PNRR Agrisolare scheme, which offers capital grants ranging from 30% to 80%).In support of ‘green’ development, the Bank offers specialised and incentivised products for companies making this type of investment.
